Certified Voice Artist Program Week 1: The Beginning

Updated: Sep 30, 2020

BACKGROUND.

I always have been curious and fascinated with video and audio production since I was very little. I like imitating everything I see and I hear.

When I was young, I wanted to be a superhero but I ended up learning magic which is close to having superpowers. I also wanted to make films so I learned to shoot with a camera and edit. I'm a person with a lot of interests but I will share more later on.

On the side, I like imitating and doing voices for fun but I never pursued anything that would turn it into side hustle or career.

CURRENTLY...

I currently am a freelance video maker and a part-time English teacher. On lucky days, I get to perform magic. Voice acting has always been one of my frustrations. I only do it when I'm alone. I have fun with it but I never performed for anyone. I have zero professional experience nor formal training. Joining CVAP will be the very first one.

WHY AM I JOINING CVAP?

The main reasons why I want to join the program are to learn new skills - apply it to my current jobs; I want to be more confident in speaking, using my voice as a tool to speak for myself or for a group of people; and build life long relationships that will benefit both personal and professional lives.

WEEK 1 ASSIGNMENTS

One of the first things I have to do for my assignments is work on a personal brand.

Since I am into magic, I decided to have Voice Whiz. It is short for Voice Wizard and has a reference to Cheese Whiz - for easy recall especially for Filipinos.

I also decided to have my voice assignments be posted on my existing platforms so I can introduce my new art to my current audience, as well as get new audience to watch my content.
