Mac Florendo Brings the Art of Magic to Russet Accessories’ 14th Anniversary

Modern Filipino magician Mac Florendo introduced participants to the deeper art of magic during the 14th anniversary celebration of Russet Accessories, held at Hue Studio in Makati on July 27, 2026.

Presented through Metro Magic, the interactive session went beyond teaching tricks. Florendo invited participants to appreciate magic as a performing art—one shaped by history, creativity, psychology, storytelling, and meaningful human connection.

The workshop began with an introduction to the rich history of magic and the generations of performers who helped transform it from a mysterious practice into a respected form of entertainment. By understanding its roots, participants developed a greater appreciation for the discipline, preparation, and imagination involved in creating even a few moments of wonder.

Florendo also introduced the fundamental principles behind effective magic. A successful performance is not only about technique or secrecy; it also requires confidence, timing, believability, audience awareness, and the ability to create a clear and memorable image in people’s minds.

Participants learned that magicians carefully guide attention, challenge assumptions, anticipate reactions, and transform ordinary objects into extraordinary experiences. These same principles can be applied beyond the stage.

Thinking like a magician means learning to see possibilities where others see limitations.
