Mac's inspiration struck during his attendance at the Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative in 2015, where he encountered Boulder Food Rescue. The innovative use of bicycles to collect and distribute unsold yet perfectly edible food resonated deeply within him. The simplicity of the idea and its potential to help those in need while reducing carbon emissions ignited a spark within Mac's heart. He envisioned replicating this concept in the Philippines, giving birth to Food Rescue Philippines (formerly Food Rescue ASEAN).

Pedaling Toward a Better World:

With determination and passion, Mac transformed his vision into reality. Food Rescue Philippines became a beacon of hope, collecting surplus food from various businesses and establishments. Through the collective effort of dedicated volunteers, these rescued foods found their way to churches, shelters, and low-income families, bringing nourishment to those who needed it most.

Recognition and Impact:

Mac's relentless pursuit of his dream did not go unnoticed. Food Rescue Philippines was recognized at the YSEALI Seeds for the Future 2015 and was awarded a grant by the U.S. Mission to ASEAN. In 2017, the organization received the prestigious "Better World" Award from San Miguel Corporation, alongside being honored as one of the Ten Accomplished Youth Organizations (TAYO) at the 14th TAYO Awards.
