Mac Florendo Brings Heart to Rudo

Mac Florendo, also known as The Voice of Magic, delivered a powerful and emotionally charged performance as Rudo, the series’ protagonist. A storyteller and performer at heart, Mac brought authenticity to the role by drawing from his real-life advocacy.

As the founder of GAMIT Rescue, a social initiative that champions reuse and sustainability, the role of Rudo felt deeply personal to him. GAMIT stands for Give Anything Material that Inspires and Transforms—a movement that believes no useful item should be thrown away. Whether it’s a tool, book, appliance, or clothing, if it’s usable or repairable, GAMIT Rescue encourages repurposing or passing it on to someone who can benefit from it.

“Rudo was literally thrown into the Abyss, like trash,” said Mac. “But he proved that even those discarded by society still have value. That’s exactly what GAMIT Rescue stands for—we don’t throw away potential.”

Mac is also the founder of Metro Magic Philippines and Metro Magic Academy, using magic and storytelling as tools to inspire wonder, learning, and transformation.

Pocholo Gonzales as Enjin

Portraying the mysterious Enjin is none other than Pocholo Gonzales, widely known as The Voicemaster. A pioneer in the local voice acting industry and founder of CreatiVoices Productions, Pocholo is recognized for elevating Filipino voice talent to global standards. His deep, commanding performance as Enjin added a layer of tension and intrigue to the premiere.

“Filipino voices deserve to be heard not just locally, but globally,” said Pocholo. “Projects like this prove that we can bring anime to life in our own language—without losing its soul.”

What is Gachiakuta?

Created by Kei Urana, Gachiakuta is a dark fantasy anime about injustice, survival, and redemption.

Rudo lives in a world where the privileged reside above and discard their trash—including people—into a deep pit called the Abyss. Wrongly accused of a crime, Rudo is sentenced to die by being thrown into the Abyss. But he survives, discovering a violent world beneath filled with strange creatures and warriors known as Givers, who wield powerful emotional weapons called Jinki.

As Rudo fights to survive, he begins to uncover the dark secrets of the society that cast him out, determined to rise again and change the world.

CreatiVoices Leads the Tagalog Dubbing

The Tagalog dub was produced by CreatiVoices Productions, known for its high standards in training and localization. The premiere showcased the first two episodes in full Filipino—delivering emotional depth, natural dialogue, and a voice cast that truly brought the characters to life.

Audience members praised the performance, calling it one of the most grounded and heartfelt Filipino dubs in recent years.

A Collaborative Effort

This premiere was made possible through the collective efforts of the Gachiakuta production team, Medialink, Ani-One Philippines, and CreatiVoices Productions. It represents a landmark moment for Filipino-dubbed anime and showcases the talent and potential of local voice actors.

Now Streaming

The Tagalog-dubbed Gachiakuta is now streaming weekly via Ani-One Philippines, in sync with the Japanese and English versions.
