The Filipino magic community reached a new milestone on June 21, 2025 when Metro Magic Academy presented its inaugural webinar Branding for Magicians as a complimentary online masterclass which educated magicians to transform their hobbyist status into highly sought-after artists with distinctive personal brands.

Metro Magic organized this event which Mr. Magic of the Philippines Mac Florendo hosted to connect professional and aspiring magicians from throughout the country.

The participants received more than practical advice since they experienced a meaningful sense of direction and unity along with clarity.

The Magic Behind the Brand

The main presenter of the session was Kith Clado who is both an accomplished magician and brand identity designer under the guidance of global branding expert James Martin. During his brief one-hour presentation Kith demonstrated that branding extends beyond logos because it represents your professional reputation together with your personality and purpose which needs intentional communication.

He explained the core components of personal branding which include:

  • You need to determine which brand archetype matches your personality since you could be either the Hero or the Jester or the Lover.

  • You should take full responsibility for developing your personal style together with your color choices which reflect your persona.

  • Your online presence should align perfectly with your stage persona.

  • You should develop a distinctive phrase or moment that will help people remember you.

  • Every communication platform should present the same narrative which starts from Instagram and extends to business cards.

Through multiple examples of Shin Lim and Justin Willman, Kith demonstrated that exceptional magicians use their performances to express their essence through their stage presence.

A Platform for Growth and Collaboration

Ralph Tee, who transitioned from street magic to become a new talent, took the stage to begin the event. One year ago he used to perform magic for both his acquaintances and random people without any clear plan. Through Metro Magic he developed show booking skills and learned client communication while gaining confidence and joining a community.

According to Ralph, the academy provides more than excellent magician training since it helps students develop their best version through magic. The academy exists to help students become their best possible selves through their mastery of the magical arts.

Throughout the event, participants could engage in real-time Q&As while also examining case studies and receiving expert advice regarding pricing, designer collaborations, and positioning strategies. The discussions taught participants to understand their target audience while claiming their worth and making purposeful decisions regarding their business name as well as costumes and message responses.

Community First, Always

Mentalist, content creator. and entrepreneur Emmanuel Espiritu concluded the event by explaining that branding represents the feelings people experience during their encounter with your brand rather than your visual appearance. It’s how you make people feel. The three core elements of your identity, message, and value form your personal brand.

Metro Magic Academy exists to develop artists who are both professional performers and purposeful creators who will enhance the Filipino magic community.

What’s Next?

The first launch of this program represents the start of something new. The organization plans to launch additional webinars and meetups and establish partnerships in the near future. The academy welcomes magicians at all skill levels to participate in learning activities while sharing their experiences to help build the future of extraordinary Filipino magic.
